On behalf of all our children, staff, parents and Governors, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Blackpool Gateway Academy.

Whether you are a new family looking to join our community or a current one, I hope you find our website a useful resource. We are a school packed full of lifelong learning, tucked away near Blackpool Football Club. As part of the Fylde Coast Academy Trust (FCAT), our school motto is 'Learning today for a brighter tomorrow' and that is precisely what we aim to do, preparing our children for adulthood and their journey ahead.

I am immensely proud and privileged to serve as Headteacher of this wonderful community. Having had the pleasure of working at the school for nearly four years, I feel a deep sense of connection to the Gateway family. I fell in love with the school from the moment I came to look around; should you come to look around, I am sure you will too. My passion is stronger than ever for building on the great work we have already achieved together. We are committed to nurturing a learning environment where every child feels seen, valued and empowered to reach their full potential.

At Blackpool Gateway Academy, reading is our greatest priority as it opens the gates to all other learning. We are passionate believers in the ReadWriteInc Phonics scheme and prioritise reading for pleasure with a plentitude of author visits taking place each year. In addition, our focus on nurture and inclusivity is fundamental to our school's ethos. Through our journey with Nurture UK, we are actively developing the six principles of nurture to support the holistic development of every child. We have a highly dedicated and committed nurture team who are in place to support children and families pastorally, there is very little they won’t do for the best of our children.

We believe that every child deserves the very best start in life. Our inclusive ethos is our key driver and we welcome pupils from all backgrounds and a range of different needs. We firmly believe that a child’s race, religion or socio-economic status has no bearing on their potential to succeed and we celebrate the rich diversity within our school community.

I am committed to continuing our strong partnership between home and school, as I believe it is a key pillar of our success. We want the very best for every child at Blackpool Gateway Academy and love the enthusiasm with which our children come to school every day knowing that they will have a day full of fun and engaging learning. What is of great importance to us is that everyone is happy within our school, feeling safe and confident to take on the challenges they will face as they grow older.

If you would like to know more about our school, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to help you further.
